Why I come here

Re: Why I come here

Buckee has accused me of coming here to spy on my husband tongue.gif but the truth is I have enjoyed reading the wide variety of post over my husband's shoulder for quite sometime. I am also new to different aspects of hunting...I have been pheasant and deer hunting, but I will have the pleasure of going turkey hunting this spring and I will be darn if Bowtech is going bear hunting without me...so I plan to gain advice from the experts as well as my personal hunting guide.

Re: Why I come here

I think for most it's a big stress reliever. For me it's a chance to talk hunting when I want to talk hunting or it's the news of my wife and I expecting a baby or it's the complaints I have of things that just don't sit right with me. Most of the time I have seen great tolerences with what I say when I least expect it. I know I push the envelope sometimes but in a job where I deal with the deranged, sick, drunk and messed up, I have a tendancy to tell it like it is and cut out the BS. For me it's a chance to come back to reality and socialize with the best of the best anywhere on the internet, in the woods or under God. Thank you all for the opportunity and I'll keep coming back for that as long as you all let me.

Re: Why I come here

One of the reasons I come here is to read stories like this

[ QUOTE ]

When I first started here, with the first user name I've had, on the forums I was actually trying to learn what I could do to increase my success in the hunting woods....I had previously seen 3 deer in 10 years and had only taken one before in my entire life(Gods Honest Truth)!!!

I've since become much more successful - I quit counting but its over 30 harvests so far, even including a couple of very nice deer and my first buck with a bow, and thats a direct result of the increased communication and my willingness to try different methods.

In the process along the way I've made some friends here. Some of them have become close friends and the distance of many miles has really made no difference...I'd trust them with my family and children.

and to see smiles like this

Somebody has to watch Tominator.... wink.gif

Why do I come on here? I'm selfish I guess. I like to surround myself with guys and gals like me, guys just like Tominator. Chris a good guy and a great friend. The people make this place. *** sniff, sniff *** cool.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

OK, serious now.

Quite simply y'all are just part of my life now. How many people can honestly say "I have about 500 friends I know would do anything for me if I asked them?"

I can.

Re: Why I come here

Pretty simple...to share stories with friends that share the same interest, lend a helping hand when I can, get a few laughs to brighten my day, or at least have a good reason to smile. grin.gif

Gotta admit the bonus is best described in buckee's post above. wink.gif
