Re: SOUTH TEXAS PIGLET!

Here's the story.... that little piglet came in at 345 lbs!

By Brad Draughon.....

"Well, I start out this evening by wanting to kill a "GRILL" size pig of about 50 LBS or so. I sat in the bow blind for about an hour and a half and this big boy showed up. He started off coming out of the brush and headed around behind the feeder and rubbed his tusks on a few trees and scratch himself on a couple more. This took him about 10 minutes or so. I could barely make him out in the brush but, I already knew how big he was and knew I wanted to stick and arrow in him. He finely came out and stay eating right at me, never giving me a shot. After drawing back a couple of times, and having to look away a few times because I was shaking so badly, he finelly gave me a shot. I drew back and put the pin on him and he winded me. He ran back about 15 yards more and when he turned broadside at about 25 yards, I let the ole Hoyt rip. About half the arrow penetrated right behing his shoulder and instantly saw blood squirting out. The shot looks low but, I wanted to get under his armour plate. I gave him about and hour and followed an excellent blood trail for about 60 yards where he had piled up. Three full grown men tried to drag him and it was not goin to happen. It took a four wheeler with a chain to get him out to where we could take pictures. We then used our John Deere tractor with the bucket to get him up to the house. I used a Hoyt Powertec and Grim Reaper 125 broadheads with a Beman ICS Hunter 340 arrow. My biggest animal to date with a bow!! [Eek!]"
