First 3D shoot

Hey all: on Monday I got a call from a buddy saying there was a 3D shoot at a local gun club: I just bought a house 40 miles away, and told him I had to much to do, etc. Last night I was working on building a dog kennel, and I kept thinking about the shoot, well...I got up at 5:30 this a.m. and drove back to the hold house, with an assortmant of arrows, no field tips, etc....I cleaned up and headed out. I have never done a 3D shoot, but can honestly say it was one of the best times I have had! 40 targets in the woods/lake area....You get 1 arrow. We shot at Lions, Turkeys, Bear, Gophers, hogs, etc......The scoring was simple there was a "10" ring, anything in the vitals was an "8" and hitting the animal was "5'......i am happy that I did not loose an arrow, but missed a few targets grin.gif 4 to be exact.....but I had an awesome time! It wasn't like I pictured at all.....no pressure, lots of good natured ribbing, fun! If you haven't shot at a 3d shoot, you need to!

Heck, I hit the kill zone on beaver, elk, buffalo, lions and deer! Of course I missed a ground hog, alligator, and cape buffalo! grin.gif

It was a blast! 15 bucks, and it took us (4 in the group) grin.gif 3 hours to walk the course! It was awesome: Scores were:

213 for the low man (lost an arrow, and broke one more), 253 for me, 257 for a guy who shoots a lot, and 284 for my buddy, who was also a first timer! If you ever get the chance do this, it was a blast! First time ever, and I can't wait to do it again...Tony
