SuperMn106
Its about 2 am here and i just got home . Me, my brother, my brothers friend and his son went out sucker spearing. we speared for about 2 hrs, walked about a mile up the creek. im not sure how many we got i will count tommorow and post pics when i get up. My guess would be we got about 60 including the ones that would flop off the spear. We saw pretty close to 2,000 fish , about 4-5 pike. The creeks were so full of suckers that 5 times i was just puttin my spear to the bottom to feel the depth and i would spear a fish. most of the time the creek was about knee deep but some spots were waist deep. SuperMn106
Re: Sucker Spearing (pics to come) you can smoke them and they are pretty good or you can make them into a patty just like salmon patties and the taste good too. SuperMn106
Re: Sucker Spearing (pics to come) Sounds good muggs i thought spearing was gonna be easy, but you have to have quick reactions. You have a lantern in one hand and spear in the other and about 90% of the time the fish are moving. It was challenging and it made it fun. When we first went in the water i couldnt get the timing down to be able to throw a spear at them but as time went on it got easier.

PAbowhunter86
Re: Sucker Spearing (pics to come) I have seen people bowfishing for suckers, and it looks like fun, but I dont think I would eat any fish that feed off the bottom. But I am not a big fish eater.

Hardwood_HD
Re: Sucker Spearing (pics to come) Those look like the fish that come up in our creek but only ours are littler, like 6-7 inces max, i shoot them with my blowgun and feed em to our cats, there not big enough to eat.
