TreeStandBowHunter
All right boys, let's get these playoffs started. I know there are a few teams left with a regualr season schedule but it's never too early. We need to keep each other posted with what's going on with the teams. I know for sure in the East you have Carolina, Ottawa, New Jersey, Phili, Buffalo and the Rangers. The west I believe the Redwings, Flames, Stars, Preds and the Sharks are definatley a shoe in. I think the Redwings and the Sens are going to go to the cup. That's my bet. I would however like to see the Hurricanes get there.
Tominator
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread As long as the Wings knock out the Avs so I win another bottle of tinks from muggs, that's my biggest concern right now. As always with the aging Wings of late, if they can stay healthy for 2nd season, they might do OK. They have a history of bowing out way too early though. I also think the East is generally tougher than the West, so for the finals, my head says Sens in 5, but my heart says Wings in 7.
superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I'll bet everybody right now that neither the Sens or the Wings are going to the cup final. As much as I want the Oilers to be there I'm guessing the Devils and the Flames. Tominator-the East tougher than the West-you should do stand up your a funny guy lol. TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Yeah I'll buy that SG. I think overall the West is better this year. I'm sticking with my two teams in the cup though. let's see how it plays out.
VABuckSlayer
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread We're not looking too good right now but I'm pull'n for the Flyers. A shame they couldn't stay healthy this year. They had a stout team at the beginning of the season! Eric

VermontHunter
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Carolina is taking it all.... unless the cinderella team of Montreal turns it up... superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread All I know is -IT'S ALL GOOD -IT'S THE PLAYOFFS BABY. All you canucks make sure you watch Hockeyville on CTV Wednesday and vote for Meadow Lake. If you see a guy in a cowboy hat coaching that's me-and a #15 on the ice is Superguide Jr. Were in the long version not sure about the edited one. muggs
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I think the West is a tough one to call...I'm going to get flamed for this, but I think the Sharks could be a sleeper pick there. As far as the East goes, the two best teams are the Sens and Carolina...in the playoffs, a team like Carolina can do some damage. They have the vets, and they have the grinders. I like that team a lot. I see a Hurricanes v. Red Wings final much to my displeasure because that will be 3 bottle of deer pee I owe tominator. Muff
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread well I am standing by my Sens....but if I had to pick a sleeper team this year it would be the Sabers they are very fast and if they ever get a hot goalie (shutout last night) look out....the west I am not sure of because I did not see alot of their games....I think the wings are over rated so I will have to cheer for the Flames
SuperMn106
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I am goin to have to go with my Red Wings. They have 2 good goalies and whoever thinks they are over rated is just plain crazy. Correct me if i am wrong but i do believe they have the best record in the NHL this season. So im not sure they can be over rated.
MUDRUNNER
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I'm going with Ottowa and Dallas for the final. Both are great teams that play well on the road.I'll say Dallas in six. The Wings do have some talent. Datszuk (sp?) Zetterberg, williams, and the oldy but goody Stevie Y. I know im forgetting a lot but they have good players. SaskMan
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I have no IDEA who is going to the cup final this year, it could be anybody. I'm not sure Calgary will get back, great team best goalie in the league but they don't score many goals. Detroit looks like the obvios pick in the West but I wouldn't count out Dallas or San Jose either. In the east I think Ottowa has the strongest team but no Hasek hurts them somewhat, New Jersey has been hotter than a pistol lately and I wouldn't count Buffalo out either, maybe too many young guys there but I like the way they play. There'll be upsets, we can count on that.
