superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Soo Wings fans cry about as much as Chelios-watch the replay there sunshine-wish more Wings were like Stevie Y-it hurt to see him play maybe his last game. Any team who couldn't put the Oilers away after that crappy second period theOilers played doesn't deserve to win. Deep Fried Wings served with WHINE from now till training camp. Man if the Flames take out the Ducks were going to see the 'Battle of Alberta' again.
SuperMn106
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Yeah the oilers did get away with one BUT if you allow 4 goals in the last period you deserve to lose. Red Wings simply got out played and out husseled tonight. They really didnt look like they wanted it to me. So they deserved to lose and i look at it as Edmonton won the game and not detroit lost it. Congrats Edmonton. And all of that coming from a Wings fan
superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread At last a Wings fan who actually watched the same game I did lol. Anaheim got jobbed in the first period against Calgary tonight. You got to love Iginla and Beaucheavan taking their helmets off and squaring off-just like in the 'DUB'
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread As much as I hate the Oilers, they deserved that series. The Wings should of won that series hands down and they blew it out their chuncker. And I watched that game last night too SQ2. That was a goal...there was never a doubt about it during the 10 min pause for effect while the refs talked to Toronto. The TV showed all the angles and it was definatley a goal. Again, as much as I hate the Oilers, the Wings fans have nothing to whine or cry about except for the fact that the Wings blew it.....#1 team in the NHL....BLEW IT

Muff
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread I just had a gut felling on this one...I still took some wings in my pool....BUT like I said before they came out of the weekest devision in the NHL 3 teams not even close to 500.....so thats almost 50 points from those 3 teams...... superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Tominator-shame on you-run,biker or fly to a sport's bar if Edmonton plays Calgary next round. Those years Edmonton was winning the Cup-the Battle of Alberta was always better than the cup final. Anaheim and Cal;gary sure has lots of WHL grads playing in it-gotta love that.Muff don't feel bad I took that big Pansy Jagr in my draft-must of been having a week moment. I still have Thornton,Cheechoo,Elias,Schaeffer,Phaneuff and hopefully Drury and Stillman after first round-I've got Brodeur for my goalie so already got 5 points for a shutout. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread [ QUOTE ] watch the replay there [/ QUOTE ] i watched the replay...and he kicked it in...after a high stick knocked it out of the air... i admit...the oilers played a good series and the wings deserved to lose it the way they played....but i still think he kicked it in ...at least i still have the pistons
woodsman1977
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Legace played good during the regular season but when the playoffs come around things change.....I didn't have the MOST confidence in Osgood but he has been there before and would have gotten the nod for starting goalie. Shame on the officials in Toronto and at the Rexall place. One of the worse calls EVER, VERY blatant kicking motion.
superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread You Detroit fans take the cake-after the jobbing the refs gave the Oilers in game four especially-you are on here whining it up. Your team got beat-accept it. The officials made the right call-even if your Detroiut sportscasters don't see it that way. Did you listen to Kris Draper after the game-he admitted they got beat plain and simple but if whining about that goal helps get you through the day go for it. MUDRUNNER
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Detroit totally bombed out that third period, and much like Dallas, never really played up to their expectations the whole series.I think the refs made the right call on the goal.In the replays I seen I could never see him kick at the puck. Man I love playoff hockey!Even though my Blues had their worst year since I've been around,I still watch as much as I can.

drkillemquick
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread Actually when I first saw the replay's available on Hockey Night in Canada I thought it was kicked in, and was going to be called a no goal. Durring the review the camera's zoomed into the t.v's the officials were looking at, and they realized they were looking at a view they weren't showing the viewers, within a minute or so Hockey night in Canada, did find the angle and played it and I quickly changed my mind it was a goal and he didn't kick it in. Perhaps SQ2 the broadcaster of your game didn't show that angle, or maybe you missed it. It was a good series, too bad such a classy guy as stevie Y has to go out this way. Maybe he will come back for another year. If he doesn't hockey will miss him!
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread maybe...the angles i saw it looked like he kicked it in...if he did he did if he did, if he didn't he didn't...but his foot made the kicking motion, you can't deny that....anywho...for those that actually watched the whole series....was it me or were there alot of plays being reviewed that didn't need to be?? this series was pretty good but man the refs ruined it with a bunch of bad calls on both teams

Our thread is already a target because it does so well, believe it or not, alot of "people" want to see this playoff hockey thread go away just like our hockey thread we had gone for the last 6 months. If my thread get's locked up because people have to argue, I am going to be pretty mad. We have been doing fine all year without any problems, don't screw it up for all of us. The Wings got beat because they fell on their sword, plain and simple. All the announcers on OLN even said it was a goal. Bad calls isin't the reason the Wings lost. If you can't handle getting razzed, I wouldn't come in here. Me and Superguide been at each other all year but it was all in fun. Let it countinue to be that way! superguide
Re: Official 2006 NHL Playoff/Stanley Cup thread It's all good-now imagine if you'd ever had to play against me lol. In fact I love it when people get wound up about their team-Chelios is a guy you'd hate to play against but love to have on your team. Don Cherry had a good talk about Stevie Y tonight on Hockey Night in Canada-Stevie has nothing left to prove-to me he's one of the top 5 players ever-He should retire before he gets one more bad injury. Wings fans think about this-it could be worse you could be a Flyers fan-YIKES are they getting the wood put to them by Buffalo.
