lil hunter
Just either today or yesturday an Indiana person died from it. A girl at school said they found a dead bird in their backyard with westnile. The good thing is, I have rarely, I mean very rarely, been bit by a ,osquito this summer. I guess I'm just lucky. RTF
Re: Every one is probably sick of The wast nile virus is all over my neck of the woods. Dead birds being found all over. And yes I have seen all age groups come down with this virus. In the paper yesterday I see something about a 19 year old and a week or so go I seen something about a 35 year old. This epidemic will be the biggest break out across America since the small pox. This is just the begining folks. You have not seen anything yet. billkay
Re: Every one is probably sick of Illinois is the worst in both number of cases with I believe near 300 and deaths, which was as of Firday at 35. They have also reported that 3 birds, 2-red front geese and a turkey vukture were found dead at the zoo along with thousands of birds in the Chicago area. Of all the deaths, I thoink the youngest was 70 years old however. Once the first frost gets here,it will be over. Actually, they think the worst is now over. RTF
Re: Every one is probably sick of Then what about next year ? Frost or no frost, NY has been dealing with this virus for over 3 years. Once the skeeters hatch next spring, it will start all over again. It's just that the virus did not spread east until about this year. East coast states have been dealing with this stupid thing for awhile. I thought when the outbreak took place in New York City and Long Island a few years ago, that it was contained. Heavy night time spraying of all infected neighborhoods where dumped with skeeter killing spray. Worked for a while but this virus is out of control and the goverment does not know how to stop it. Some say it will be all over after the frost, but the fact is it will be back again next year and be worse.
Rhino
Re: Every one is probably sick of 2 of my friends have had it and another guy in the hunting club that joins us has had it too. It causes, among other things severe swelling of the brain. That is what causes the severe head aches that go along with the nausia, etc. I'm told by a friend of mine who is a nurse (one of the guys that has had it) that if everyone that has had the symptoms had gone to a doctor, 30% of them would have been diagonosed with west nile down here. He also said that the gurus believe that once you get it you won't catch it again. I hope that's correct.
