cweinste
Well, for all us guys here in PA that have to have the trout stocked for us, it was opening day this past weekend... How did everybody do? I caught 71 "NO LIE" Up near Elk County, mostly brookies, a few rainbows, and i think one brown... Caught a 23 inch brook though, it won me 30 bucks, and gave one heck of a fight... Yea, they just kept hitting, we spent 7 hours there and caught fish none stop... We were catching the same fish over again at some points, it was crazy! So all in all... Curtis (me) 71 Tyler (my buddy) 47 Shame (my buddy) 15 Tylers dad 15 All together 148 trout, in 7 hours, one hole... and we put them all back except for two the swallowed the hooks real bad... BEST DAY EVER! haha How'd everyone else Do????????
_MD_
Re: PA trout season They stock 23" Brookies? WOW! Sounds like you had a great time. My favorite time for trout here is when the Salmon fly hatch is on. Nothing but good times there. Just have to wait until the June 1. Stayed at a camp in Weedville up on top of 5 Point Rd. Sounds like you had a heck of a day. Opening day I was up in Kittanning on Cowashonick Creek and limited out. Didn't have time to catch any more because after I caught my 5 the people I was with wanted to go since the best they came up with were suckers lol. At any rate, it was a beautiful day. I see in your profile you're from Clinton. I sthat Clinton County, or Clinton up near Sarver???
PAbowhunter4life
Re: PA trout season [ QUOTE ] They stock 23" Brookies? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, every creek in PA receives a certain amount of "breeders" every year. My buddy once caught a 25", 5 1/2 lb. brookie and a 24" 4 lb. rainbow out of the same hole lol. Opening day this year I had a BEAST of a rainbow pop my hook.
