doughboy1956
Got My first Issue of Outdoor Canada Magazine today. Over 1/2 of the pages were full page Advertizements and most of the rest had Advertizements on them also. Whitail deer is my favorite hunting. It was mention on one page with fishing. Letter gone off to Editor. If anyone has a subscription to the magazine, please tell me it will get better? And the free gift: A knife in a box i can cover with my little finger. BUT WAIT--- on the box---MADE IN CHINA. I would gladly pay full price for a knife from North America. Don,t even get me started on this made Overseas bussiness. I even heard that the tip over bleat calls, the call companies are selling, are made overseas. Does anyone know were they are made? I feel better now... That I’ve gotten that out of my system Thanks for letting me vent... ...
Steven
Re: I have to vent Welcome to 2006. The bottom line is all that matters. Saving money giving away knives made by near-slave labor and selling every square inch possible to advertisers. Sadly, you won't find any magezines, or hunting shows for that matter, that are really that much different. "We used our (insert brand name) binoculars and (insert brand name) cover scent and attractant to get within 30 yards. Our (insert brand name) camo kept us 'invisible' and the (insert brand name) broadhead hit nothing but lungs." But, don't get me wrong, I'm not so naive that I don't reralize that's the nature of the beast. If these companies weren't paying the bills, the magezines and hunting shows wouldn't exist. I guess you have to take the good with the bad and deal with it.

buckee
Re: I have to vent The reason you don't see much made in Canada, is because all of our raw materials are either shipped to other countries, and then we buy back the finished products, or because most of the big factories here are American owned and they put made in the USA on it As far as our military goes...YES, we have a dang good military, just not a big military. Our Liberal governments over the past have cut the military back to a skeleton crew, more or less. If it came to an invasion, I'm afraid we would definately have to rely on our neighbours to the south.
