VermontHunter
Re: Removing limbsavers? Be very careful removing the limb savers from you bow limbs. I presume that they have the self stick tape on them. You can actually "skin them off" with a knife, just like skinning a deer. Just be careful not to let the knife scratch up the limbs. There will be some sticky stuff left on the limbs. Don't scrape! Use something like Goo Gone or some other solvent to remove the residue. Reapplying the limb savers is the tricky part. And, there is no guarantee that they will stay on the limbs. I have had some that took, and, some that didn't. You have to get all the sticky stuff, and tape off the base of the limb savers first, using whatever solvent worked on the limbs. Then you have use denatured alcohol, or laquer thinner to remove all the oils from the base. Then, you need to wipe down the area on the new bow limbs, where the limb savers will be applied with denatured alcohol. To re-apply the limbsavers just get a roll of doubled sided tape and re-apply them, or use some clear silicone... and let it cure...
Guest muleystalker
Re: Removing limbsavers? heat them up with a hair drier. They usually come off & don't damage any of the surface. If they are metal limbs you can heat the limbs slowly with the hair drier to help with removal. VtBowhunter
Re: Removing limbsavers? They'll never stick to the new bow.......Anytime you buy a new bow you need to buy new limbsavers too.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Removing limbsavers? Ken, With all the hassles and what could happen you might be further along to buy new and avoid a future headache! When in doubt, email Limbsavers as I had an issue and they got back quick with technical help. Go to their web site and contact someone and see what they say! Good luck! hutchies
Re: Removing limbsavers? I beg to differ on some opinions that they won't stick. You do need to take the old sticky stuff off. I used superglue on mine to use on my Illusion. I don't plan on taking them off again so I wasn't worried.
VtBowhunter
Re: Removing limbsavers? Beg to differ if you like, but have you ever read the warning on super-glue......"May damage the materials it's placed on".........not on my bow!!!! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Removing limbsavers? Super Glue is some wild stuff, in my old house I spilled some on my carpet, the carpet started to smoke! That was wild plus it messed up my carpet!! Super glue is some wild stuff. You can usually get some new ones over at ArcheryTalk.com pretty cheap. Heck, I sold some on here for $7.00 or so and they were new in the package!!
