leatherneck Posted April 24, 2006 Report Share Posted April 24, 2006 But it was worth it My Dad gave me his almost new mountian bike a few weeks ago, and after not ridding a bike for almost 10 years I forgot how much fun it was. Well I figured that I would share this fun with my wife and get her a bike too so she could go with me. So yesterday after Church we went on our weekly trip to wally- world. She saw a bike that she liked, but wanted me to wait untill next week when she got paid so we wouldnt have to put it on the card. Well, lets just say that I wanted to go ridding today so I got it for her anyway. So she isnt happy about that, but she got over it. We get the bike home,and I tell her to go get changed, and that I would get it ready to ride. She comes back and we get the seat just rite for her and all, and off we go. We have some nice off road trails down in a creek bed and by a pond down the road so that is where we headed. All was going well, she was getting used to the bike and actually starting to enjoy herself. Well, a couple of night s ago we had some pretty good rain, and there was a nice size mud puddle in the middle of one of the trails. I saw that there was bike tire tracks alread in it so I thought what the heck and continued on. I made it just fine, but she stopped on the other side and asked if I really wanted her to go through it. I said yeah, just stay in the middle where everyone else had gone and you will be fine. Just as I turned my back I heard her scream and as I turned around.......splat Her tire slipped to one side, and as she put her foot down to catch herself it slipped too.... So there lays my wife face first in a huge mud puddle. I was laughing so hard that I couldnt ever help her out. She was coverd from head to toe. Lets just say that she was not a happy camper, and as of 0630 this morning when I left the house, she still was not in the best of moods Some things are just worth going to the dog house over.
