okbowman Posted April 24, 2006 Report Share Posted April 24, 2006 I pastor as well as coach my Junior Bible Quiz Team(11 and under). We went to a Regional Bible Quiz Extravaganza in Dallas, Texas this past weekend. There were 70 teams from Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana. It was a double elimination tournament. The first day we went 3-1, losing a quiz for the first time this year(season began January 1). We quizzed terrible in the one we lost, really we beat ourselves. Saturday we didn't have to quiz until after lunch. We worked our way through the losers bracket, winning 7 quizzes in a row(avenging our one loss from the day before) and winning the entire tournament. The team that won this tourney last year finished 2nd at Nationals. This is quite a feat. These kids(five on team) have memorized 283 verses from the book of Matthew. My 8 and 6 year olds can quote them word for word from the King James Version. Wish us luck at Nationals which isn't until July. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
