woodsman2230
Hey guys I am thinking about buying a new Mathews bow and I was planning on puttin a Pendulum sight on it. Have any of you ever used one, if so, in your opinion which one is the best one?

buckee
Re: Pendulum Sights? I have used the Savage Pendulum sight for the last 3 years and love it. Mine is similar to the one below, but this is the newer model. Mine is the Savage Pendulum sight W/nighthawk pin and Duelly pin. I have the Nighthawk pin set at 20yds on the ground, so when I'm in my tree-stand the one pin is good from 0 to 30 yrds. I put the etra "Duelly pin" on also, and it acts as my 30 yrd pin if I'm hunting on the ground. The thing I love most about this sight is the Nighthawk pin. It is a tritium pin, and it glows in the dark, without the aid of a light. http://www.savagearchery.com/images/products/61598.jpg

hoytguy08
Re: Pendulum Sights? i've never used one but i don't know how they don't swing around whilst u are holding back, but like i said i wouldn't know they do seem pretty easy and a lot less time is needed to make a shot if u don't have to judge yardage
iabow
Re: Pendulum Sights? I have one year under my belt using the Predator IV sight. It takes a little more to set up then others and the pin guard is a little on the big side. All in all I'm very satisfied with it. I can shoot from 5 to 36 yds and hit the same dot, little low at 40, it's very quiet, and very adjustable for the speed of your bow. Last year was the first I wasn't worried about yardage when deer came in. Yardage was actully an after shot thought, to figure how far out my venision lay . Guest tyshe17
Re: Pendulum Sights? for strickly hunting I like them...especially if you keep your shots inside 30-35 yds (which most people should) however, I shot 3d a good bit, so I just got a multi pin sight so I can shoot tournaments with the same set up I hunt with
Adjam5
Re: Pendulum Sights? I have a TruGlo tritium pendulum on my old bow, a 1989 Bear whitetail legend. 2 years ago I upgraded to a Mathews Outback, with a single fixed horizontal pin. See the older slower bows are more of a fit for the pendulum sights. I loved the single pin set up on my older bow, so I went with a single pin sight on my Mathews Outback. It is good out to 35 yards with a single pin, with no moving parts too, like the pendulum. IMO, I think the Mathews is too fast of bow to put a pendulum on it. I could be wrong on this, but that is how I always heard pendulums get reccomended, and when I had my Outback set up, he explained it to me that way too. Consider a single pin sight if your shots are less than 35 yards like mine are. Some guys have 7 pins on their sights, I'm not that good. Good Luck, hunt safe and you made the right choice in a Mathews
woodsman2230
Re: Pendulum Sights? Ok thanks guys, I have a single pin on my bow right now. I dont usually shoot more than 25 yards because the last thing I want to do is wound a deer and not kill it. I just need to practice with my pin from my treestand to build up my confidence. Thanks again guys!
