Gus
while out turkey hunting this year. Me and a cousin had been walking around for a while Saturday afternoon and had stopped under a nice shade tree to take a break and listen for gobbles. About 150 yards or so across the little pasture along the creek I spotted this yote and figured we couldn't get any gobblers to answer us, I would see if I could call the yote over and get it with my shotgun. I didn't have any predator calls with me once again, so I tried lip squeaking her in, she would look our way, but not come towards us. So I pulled out a box call and did 3 yelps and here she came bouncing up and over the knee high weeds all the way. When she got about 15 yards away I rolled her up with a load of #4 turkey shot. She weighed in at 35.5#

Gus
Re: 2nd shotgun yote Thanks guys, it was cool watching her coming all the way across the open pasture, jumping over the high grass/weeds coming straight at me Later that afternoon, a neighbor that lets us predator hunt his place called and he has gotten us another place to predator hunt on. After we shot this yote and couldn't get any turkey's to gobble we went and looked at the new place, and we are going to go out this Saturday night with the spotlights and see what we can do. [/ QUOTE ] Sure hope I get at least one, but I guess if not I will just try to keep the yote's under control and save a few turkey for next year
