wtnhunt
Re: Hey Church Goers.... My father and grandparents were members of the united methodist church, my mother and grandparents were lutheran. First church I can remember going to as a kid was lutheran. Have since been to chuches of several others denominations, including a pentecostal church, where aside from the speaking in tongues part that church and the preacher there was really more like a southern baptist. slugshooter
Re: Hey Church Goers.... Grew up in the Church of God. Got tired of the infighting and the degrading of other religions and denominations. Been to Methodist, Baptist, and Catholic services. At this point I am not sure I will ever go back to church. I think God hates me.

Reloader
Re: Hey Church Goers.... Grew up baptist and southern baptist...now Assembly of God pentocostal. Switched because I feel that the souther baptist church is missing one thing, gifts of the spirit, such as speaking in tongues, prophesy healing etc are considered (at lesast by every Baptist church I have been too) to be old news. As in ya God did that in the bible but he doesn't do it any more. I believe that God is still into equiping his people to do his work, and that includes those gifts that may seem "spooky" to some. Other than that I still apreciate and agree with the Baptist faith and doctrine.

[/ QUOTE ] Vt, I'll definately give you that. I went to a funeral a few weeks ago at a Catholic church, and they had mass as well. After it was over I leaned over to my wife and said, "The Presbyterians must have learned how to do church from the Catholics". I grew up in the Pres. Church and the whole service it's Stand up, Sit down, stand up, and so on. I think it's because the services are so boring they don't want you to fall asleep. LOL J/K God Bless, -union
