mo_hunter Posted April 28, 2006 Report Share Posted April 28, 2006 Well drove alittle over 5 hours today to have new string and cables put on by crackers "Carters archery" . 70 lbs 26 inch draw trykon that really was 26 1/4 inch draw when I went in today with nothing on the string but a string loop it shot thru the chrono. at 279 fps. After the new string and cables were put on and the correct specs. for the bow with string leeches in the string it was shooting 288fps at 26 inch draw not 26 1/4 . Same arrow thru the chrono 361 grains. Also now I know what the wall of this bow is suposed to feel like and the bow was much quieter. Mike had my left handed bow tuned perfect before I shot it and he's right handed. Also had him put a STS on it. By the time you pay shipping and insurance both ways, you are talking around $40, and thats probably about what it cost in gas. Plus, you never let the bow out of your sight, you got to meet cracker, and watch first hand what he did to your bow, and shoot it in front of him. The timing of the Cams was off alittle, string stretched alittle I've been to my local pro shop a couple times (50 minutes away) who is very good with tuning a bow and it was never quite right. I was tired of messing with it. I've been reading about Mike Carter on archerytalk for awhile, people from all over the world send there bows to him to put strings on and tune. He works his magic on all brands of bows. While I was in his shop he gave me some shooting tips and showed me how he built my strings. When your bow leaves crackers it is perfectly tuned for your arrow and he uses the best material for strings and cables BCY 452x that will not creep.
