johnf
I bought my wife a 85b 38sp. I got for personal protection with the goal of using it for a conceal carry gun. She has only fired it once and doesn't like the recoil. She has very small hands and wrists and won't shoot it any more. I was thinking pretty seriously about trading it for a taurus 22br. I would be trading this. For this. This gun is legal in Akansas for conceal carry and that would be what we would use it for. My thought is this........... What good is a gun that she won't shoot or practice with. I could get this little simi-auto and she chould shoot it, get proficiant with it and have a gun she would actually feel comfortable with. Comments or suggestions welcome.

hutchies
Re: Trading Taurus\' It would be something like this: For This: If it would make her more comfortable then do it. However she is losing alot of knockdown power going from a .38 to a .22.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Trading Taurus\' I'm not a big fan of the 22lr for self defense, but if that's all she's comfortable with, it sure beats nothing. I gave my ex g/f my Ruger Mark II to keep in her apartment. She got pretty good with it and wanted to buy it when we split up. I had her load the magazine with alternating rounds of CCI Minimag HP's and solids. I also drilled it into her to shoot and keep shooting until the target was on the ground and motionless. Even if it meant emptying the entire magazine and inserting one of the two loaded spares.

Jeramie
Re: Trading Taurus\' Walther P22, Hands down! You can put different length barrels on. You can change the grip to fit your hand, and that puppy will run out 10rounds of .22lr as fast as you can squeeze the trigger. I bought one at a gunshow in Tulsa a couple of months back and trust me, they are bad and a blast to shoot! Before you buy anything take a serious look at one. They can also easily be made compact with a change of barel. You can see how short the pistol would be. And if you REALLY want to have some fun! [image]www.carlwalther.com/images/p22_laser_rt.jpg[/image] and probably one of the coolest little setups ive ever seen.........
johnf
Re: Trading Taurus\' All I see is red x's jeremy. Any way, I want something small for conceled carrry and I've already got a beretty neos which is about the same size that the walther. I did lile the walther better, but the neos was free. Can't argue at that price.
