Well folks,

My season has started off wonderful!! My friend and i went out and roosted a big tom last night, well we were set up on it, but relized we were like 30 yards from it!! He never did see us but flew down to some hens and was gone... So i kept calling, no sooner do i make a couple of excited cutts, i here a gobble from the other direction, now this bird is one of those birds you cant call to to much... and he was on a string, my buddy saw him first, i then drew my BOW and he came into view at 20 yards, i shot and he dropped straight down and never moved.. textbook shot cut the wing almost clean off and destroyed his chest cavity... So we are now high fivin and all that jazz, when we here another gobble, he jumps back down and i go above him.. not 1 min. later to more longbeards show up... These ones hung up, but a lil acrobatics from my 280 lb 5'9 friend and the turkey was down (50 yards, new federal flight control wads, 3.5 inch 5 shot, looked like he hit it at 20 with a normal 3.5 inch... AMAZING) SO, at 6:55 am we were done for the day... Two nice birds within 5 minutes of eachother!! I'll call it a double... haha... wink.gif

My bird.. 10 1/4 inch beard, 1 inch left spur, 1 1/8 inch right spur...

Friends bird... 10 inch beard, 3/4 both spurs...

~ what a wonderful opening morning!! Couldnt of gotten any better, Good friends, Gobble birds, and good weather... CANT BEAT IT!!!!!!! grin.gif

Hope everyone else did good!
