Guest HANKFAN
For the past couple of seasons I have been trying to harvest a buck with my Knight Disc ML here in West Virginia without success. Our ML season comes in really late and the bucks are really weary by that time. However this season I decided to take my Knight rifle with me the opening day of gun season. At around 7 a.m. I was sitting in my stand and heard something coming up the ridge behind me. I turned around and at 10 yards stood a buck. I took the shot and the 250 grain Barnes Expander Sabot hit it's mark. The buck went 20 yards before expiring.

tedicast
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) [ QUOTE ] How can anyone consider this a NICE buck????? [/ QUOTE ] Who are you to question someone elses deer?. Any deer taken is a trophy. It is venison in the freezer, and makes for a succesfull season. Not a good post for your first post. If thats gonna be the tone of your posts, you might as well go back wherever you came from! Nice buck HANKFAN! I can't believe how light color the deer is. The deer up here are very dark brown this time of year. Congrats on your first ML'er buck. Hopefully I'll be posting my first in a few weeks. Our season starts Dec.8, and this will be my first ML'er season.

You are the FIRST person in the Realtree forums to make my IGNORE list! BTW, I also took my first deer with a ML yesterday - about the same size as in this thread's pic. hangunnr
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) buck2die, You most certainly are welcome to your opinion........but, it's very bad form to make your entrance to this forum by putting others down. I'm personally proud of every deer I take be it a fawn or a mature buck. A trophy is in the eye of the beholder. The circumstance involved in the taking of a deer is as important if not more important than the size of the bone on it's head. So, in this case, as it's the mans first buck with a ML, it's a NICE deer any way you look at it. hangunnr
too_pointer
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) Congrats, I think it is a great deer that I would be very proud of buck2die, don't even start with nocking deer in here, we are a close knit hunting family, and are proud of our hunter's success.I hope you stay in here and understand how we treat each other I wish that you might grasp that there is much more to hunting than a big rack. too_pointer

Its not the size of the deer, or even the kill that makes hunting enjoyable to me. I just love nothing more than sitting out in the woods. Everything else is a bonus. tedicast
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) [ QUOTE ] I never said anything to disrespect this guy. [/ QUOTE ] You never said anything disrespectfull???? [ QUOTE ] How can anyone consider this a NICE buck????? [/ QUOTE ] That's as disrespectfull as you can get to someone who is happily showing off a deer . A good rule of thumb is this...If you don't have anything nice to say, Don't say anything at all! tedicast
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) [ QUOTE ] Everyone is right! Very nice deer. You should think about mounting it so you can cherish your NICE buck forever and then you could show your grand kids what a NICE buck grandpa shot. [/ QUOTE ] What is your problem with HANKFAN's deer? Why don't you post a deer so we can get in a few cheap shots at you! There is no need for this! You have made 4 posts here, and they have all been in this thread. Enough. Drop it! Last week I shot my first buck. Yes it was a yearling. Yes, I'm having it mounted. Yes, I'm proud of it, and Yes.. IT WAS A NICE DEER! There is no need for your attitude on this forum. I know it won't be tolerated. People that come in here posting like you, don't seem to be around very long. [/ QUOTE ] Thats a beauty HANKFAN!!!!! Did you have him scored? Awesome deer. I wouldn't explain my reasons to someone knocking a deer I shot. Just a waste of breath. If i had shot that deer last week, I would have been smiling just as wide as you. My ml'er season starts Dec 8th, and I hope to get a shot at a buck, but honestly, a doe will be fine. I guarantee I will be happily post a picture of whatever my first ml'er deer is. Oh, and by the way, welcome to RT.com forms. sorry you met up with a rude member so early. As you can see he is not the norm in here.

I can't believe how rude some people can be, I am glad that the majority of the people in the forum are nice and considerate. buck2die... well, not much you can say about somebody like that, I would definately not classify him as a nice buck
EKYhunter
Re: First Buck Ever With My ML (pics) This reminds me of a situation I witnessed when I was in college. I was returning to school during rifle season and stopped at a gas station that was frequented by huntres. An 8 or 9 year old boy was there with his first deer which was a NICE doe. The boy was grinning ear to ear as people looked at the deer and congratulated him. Two guys pull in wearing blaze orange, get out, walk over, look in the back of the truck (with the boy standing there) and one comments "Oh, it's just a doe" and they walk off. You could easily tell by the expression on the boys face that his feelings were hurt. That was close to 10 years ago and I haven't forgotten it. Don't think I ever will cause I felt bad for the boy. Any game animal taken legally is a trophy, is NICE, and definitely should be respected by fellow hunters. Why detract from anyones success in any way?
