Tominator
Re: crow huntin Crows have a goofy season in most states because of an agreement with Mexico back in the day when they were setting the laws on hunting migratory birds. Ohio's season is closed now I think. It closes in the spring, but when it's open, I think you can only hunt them during the weekend. It's weird, that much I know. I've never hunted them personally. Standard tactics are to call them in, and a lot of guys use owl decoys. Crows hate owls and will dive bomb a decoy.

lil hunter
Re: crow huntin I like goin in the mornin, when they are leaving their roost and goin to get some food. Thats when it's best to set out some dekes in a field, and do more of a feeding set-up. Later in the morning or afternoon, get more dekes up in the trees, and maybe an owl or hawk, and do more of a fighting set-up, both will attract birds. Shaun_300
Re: crow huntin We don't have a season on them here, we just shoot them as pests. I really don't think it matters what time of day it is. I just go back to where I hunt them and sit behind a bank and call them with my Primos Power Crow and wait til they come in, then get up and blast'em! Sure is a lot of fun... Squirrelhunter91
Re: crow huntin We use my Foxpro 416B to crow hunt. We've been pretty darn successful with it too. I use the Crow Gathering, Crow/Hawk fight then the Dying Crow. Seems to work pretty good. My dad with the first crow we ever took while hunting with the Foxpro: Then the rest are of me: We killed plenty of other crows too, but lost many to high grass. Ravin R10 man
Re: crow huntin Best time for us is early am...we get set up well b4 first light..often call them in right at dawn..some days..we must be VERY patient until they are ready to fly over from the roosting area. We have waited over 2 hours some days...we only shot 86 this season.. only went out 2x
