Just curious to see what trips everyone has booked for this season. I am going to be at the Milk River in Montana September 2-6 for opening weekend there. I cant wait this is my first hunt of any kind in 4 years due to my enlistment in the marines.

Re: Hunting trips

1st week in September to hunt whitetails in the Blackhills of Wyoming. (archery)

I will apply for a Kansas whitetail tag (archery) and hope to hunt the 3rd week of October. Probably will not get drawn due to it's my first time and I have no preference points. Maybe next year.

Would love to hunt antelope (archery) in SD or ND, however, time may not permit that this year.

Otherwise ... hunt northeast Iowa (archery) for the big boy.

So much to hunt and so little time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somewhere in here I must get the dogs out for pheasants (and shraptails and chickens).

Good luck to all

Re: Hunting trips

Well, hopefully I'll be hunting Tule Elk in CA the first week of August. But so far I'll be bowhunting Monster Mule Deer in Colorado for sure the end of August through the first week of September.

I'll come back for a week or so and either hunt elk in Arizona ( grin.gif) or Columbia Blacktail in CA. I'll hunt CA deer until mid-November.

After that, I'll be heading to the Arizona desert to hunt rut crazed desert mule deer the first week of January. Between all these huts, I'll chase a few wild hogs as well. A fun year for sure.

Re: Hunting trips

I'm just sticking around PA to hunt and have no out of state hunting plans. I will mainly be hunting the rifle deer season. I have the cabin booked and everything already. I will also do some small game hunting off and on through the year as the seasons kick in for each species. Yote hunting is done anytime I'm out in the woods. I also would like to do fall turkey this year, but not sure my hunting partner will have the time off work to do so, or would be willing to take a turkey hunter up during archery deer season, as that's when he mainly hunts for deer and he dislikes the fall turkey hunters disturbing him.

Re: Hunting trips

I'm waiting on the results from some draw states before I know for sure the places I'm going this year. I'll go back to Missouri this fall again. Beyond that, I won't know until I know the results from draws where I've applied. I'm hopeful I'll be bowhunting in Kansas this fall. Looks like I'll have to wait until 2007 to bowhunt in Iowa again.
