AdvantageTimberLou
I seen on the men's channel Sims has a new de-resonator that goes on your barrel, much like they have for cable guards on bows. Says it will help make you a better, more consistent show. Anyone use one of these or is it just another ploy to get you to go out and buy one. Here is what is looks like: http://www.limbsaver.com/limbsaver/firearms/barrelderes.aspx Thanks in advance for information about it.
hutchies
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) This question has been asked about 10 times on here. I don't think anyone has tried it to find out.
johnf
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) I've got a connection at Sims labs. I'll see what I can do.
slugshooter
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) Yeah, I asked a few months ago. I don't think anyone on here has actually tried one and reported back, but they CLAIM that it will tighten groups by decreasing the amount of vibration in the barrel between shots. Seems rather iffy to me.

wtnhunt
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) Might try a search. This product has been out for a while. Pretty sure someone in here tried it out, but that was about a year or so ago. As far as whether or not it works, wouldnt think it would be able to physically make thegun more accurate, but if it makes the shooter more confident, thinking the gun is more accurate it might make that shooter more accurate. Guest PAdeerdreamer
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) I bought one last year for my .243. I've only shot the gun once since buying it.The gun was shooting 2in. groups before putting on the Sims. After putting it on and moving it up and down the after each 3 shot group the best group was 1 1/2.All groups were at 100yrds.So I guess you could say it worked but was it worth the 1/2 on a deer rifle. When your longest shot is maybe 150yrds. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) thanks for the comments guys, I probably will pass on getting one. First time I had seen the commercial and anyone it seems Sims is into putting rubber dampeners on everything!! If some guys could dip their bows and guns in the rubber they probably would! LOL!! too_pointer
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) I believe it will help. The same reason to have your barrel float is for vibration, and the resonator helps take that down. I am thinking alot about getting one to try out. too_
LifeNRA
Re: Sims new product (Barrel De-resonator) Yeah I asked this question last year, I never got one because my .270 doesnt need it! I know the Sims on my bow works great, but on the firearm I am not so sure about! Ill save my money!
