Good way to end the season

My shedhunting season is pretty much wrapped up now. The snow on Wednesday last week delayed seeding long enough for me to get out for one last shed hunt in some areas that I hadn't been able to check out yet this year. I found 8 sheds and one antlered skull on the day. Unfortunately, my camera batteries were dead for the best finds of the day (I forgot to recharge them the last time I was out 3 weeks ago).

I found this 72-inch mule deer shed while doing slightly over 100 kmph on a main highway (you can see the highway sign in the background).

I left this whitetail skull to watch the sunrises.

The young muley buck that dropped this shed could be a big buck next year.

My only moose antler of the year.

The days total. The best finds of the day were the 4-point stud that tapes out at 78 inches and the 5-pt in the bottom right that tapes out just over 80 inches.

Re: Good way to end the season

I should clarify that I don't farm so I wasn't talking about my own seeding operation. What I meant was that if seeding operations in the area had advanced during the week, a lot of the areas where I was planning to look would not have had antlers still lying out in the stubble. The farmers would have either picked them up or ran over them.

Way to go Dan!

Looks like another unbelivable day!

I'm pretty much done too. Getting a bit hot, and too green.

Later!
