Saturday Project

Below is a picture of what we did from 6:45am until 8pm on Saturday. This front flower bed was originally just a single smaller wall at the bottom so we dug everything out (including the plants) and built the 3 separate tiers then replanted just the azaleas. What do you think?

Re: Saturday Project

Looks great. Lotta work right there.

Where does that downspout go? Hopefully not right on the dirt. I think that the rain runoff will wash away all your soil.

Azaleas love acid BTW--make sure you hit them with some Mir-acid every now and then if your soil is alkaline like it is here.

The downspot is actually buried back along the house and spills out around the corner. Thanks for the reminder about the Mir-acid.

Re: Saturday Project

I like it a lot....but unless there is some shade that isn't shown in the picture.....those azaleas will probably not do too well. Hopefully, there is some shade because that looks great.

BTW....it has been a few years but if my eyes don't fail me....those are Formosa Azaleas, right?

The way our houses are positioned, they seem to get the right amount of sun and shade. They have actually been in this same area for 6 years and have donw really well. But...I have no idea what kind of azaleas they are. grin.gif
