This front flower bed was originally just a single smaller wall at the bottom so we dug everything out (including the plants) and built the 3 separate tiers then replanted just the azaleas. I think that the rain runoff will wash away all your soil. Azaleas love acid BTW--make sure you hit them with some Mir-acid every now and then if your soil is alkaline like it is here. New [/ QUOTE ] The way our houses are positioned, they seem to get the right amount of sun and shade. They have actually been in this same area for 6 years and have donw really well.
