huntinguide
Why doesnt hornady make the v-max in the 22LR, they make it the .17 why not .22. I know it would cost more but i just love it in the .17. Or if they do make them which i dont think they do where could i find them.
AJ
Re: Question about 22LR ammo. Hornady only makes .17 caliber rimfire ammo. They have a wide selection of centerfire ammo, but only the .17 cal rimfire stuff. Why don't they? I have no idea. I don't see it as a big improvement on performance, but it would have a big cost impact. Giving the limitations of the cases, bullets of that diameter would not be that much better in a polymer tip configuration. They do have the 35 gr V-Max bullet that sees some duty on the .22 Magnum cartridge. Yes, it will retain slightly more velocity downrange, but not enough to make it effective at longer distances. Plus it would detract from their .17 caliber sales.
Guest Phaseolus (BeanMan)
Re: Question about 22LR ammo. The 35 grain Vmax is a prairie dog blaster out of my 22 Hornet. Makes a satisfying blooop. BeanMan
