Ohiobucks
Thought I would share this with my Realtree.com forum buddies. This is a picture of our house we are currently building. We are looking to move in late January, early February timeframe, weather permitting.

HarvDog
Re: My house under construction (pic) Sweet. We had a pretty fun experience having our house built. See if you can go in between the final pre-drywall inspection and when they hang drywall to install whatever extra wiring (e.g. speaker, ethernet, cable, phone, etc.) or anything else you want. I was able to do additional outlet boxes for all kinds of things as well as run a ton of extra wiring. The way I see it, you can never have enough and once the drywall is up...you can't go back and do more...at least not very easily. BTW...where's the outhouse? buckee
Re: My house under construction (pic) Nice house, but I'm not too sure about your choice of out-house placement. I always thought the front yard was the last place to put one ? And it sure is a long way from the front door on those cold winter nights ...LOL
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: My house under construction (pic) House is looking really good. I built one 2 years ago and Harv dog is right, its easier to run wires with no drywall up. Think about little things like outlets in the eaves for Christmas lights along with many on the outside for Christmas lights. You can never have enough. Plus put a switch on the inside to control them all. Think about outlets for water too, the new house I built has quite a few this way I'm not lugging hose all over the yard. More and more people are putting light switches near the sides of where the bed will be placed. You will see why when you and the wife are in bed and guess who's turn it is to get up and shut off the lights. It was a fun experience for me, thought it would have ended in a divorce but we did a great job and got what we wanted. Problem is we want to build another with new changes and more land!! Man...I wish I would have done that. With all the wiring I did, there are still things I would add...

HarvDog
Re: My house under construction (pic) My only other advice would be to document everything...every builder's meeting, discussion, agreement, change, everything! I kept a three-ringer binder with me everytime we visited the house, the agent's office, when we met with the head construction dude. It saved my butt on several things that were "missed". Muff
Re: My house under construction (pic) take lots of video before the dry wall goes up...so when you go to hang pics or mounts you will not drill into a water line or wires...second I wish I would have done this...put in a genarator disconect at your power box. so when you lose power (like we do in the great white north) you just pull the switch plug in your genarator and you have power in your house.good luck. nothing like getting it done and moving in. The first night is the best ever.
bozz
Re: My house under construction (pic) Cool pad and nice yard....we moved in our newly built house a few weeks ago ...and there I was looking out the kitchen window one afternoon and saw 2 deer in our back yard woods...then at that moment I knew we made the right decision.. ha.....we have sod now and will soon need a fireplace in our big cold living room.....we have gas lines......yeah building was long for us but it was fun too......I would built again and do some things different....the woods around our place was the main draw.....
