TreeStandBowHunter Posted May 10, 2006 Report Share Posted May 10, 2006 One of our guys who was wounded in Iraq last week died Saturday at Bethesda Hospital in Maryland. Sgt Matthew Fenton was one of our Supply guys who went over to Iraq last month with 1stBn, 25th Marines. He was on a convoy and got wounded and then flown to Germany for surgery and was in serious but stable condition following the surgery and then flown back to the US and during the flight back to the US, he stopped breathing. They put him on life support and they came to the conclusion that he wouldn't make it and was removed from life support. His NOK has been notified and his name is cleared for release: Dod Identifies Marine Casualty The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Matthew J. Fenton, 24, of Little Ferry, N.J., died May 6 at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., from wounds received while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Anbar province, Iraq on April 26. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s Inspector and Instructor Staff, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Fort Devens, Mass.
