Chrud
Ah, the way it should be. The song "BackWhen" by Tim McGraw would be great for this... Click here for the REAL standings. Looks like Jamie Mac and Jeff Gordon were the ones with the tough luck by spineless Brian France.

dg
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings Yep, that is screwed up. And if Pittsburgh, New England, or the Eagles go 15-1 and get beat in the playoffs and someone wins the Super Bowl with a lot less wins, that must be screwed up too. MUDRUNNER
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings THAT'S WHERE NASCAR USE TO BE DIFFERENT THAN OTHER SPORTS.NOW THEY JUST COPY A FORMAT USED BY OTHER SPORTS.I SUPPOSE MAYBE I'M JUST NOT USED TO THE NEW FORMAT AND DON'T LIKE CHANGE ALL THAT MUCH. Chrud
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings Do you get the feeling that NASCAR is going a little too Hollywood, like other sports? I sure hope not. It's a great thing, just for us rednecks!

It won't be long before NASCAR falls, and falls hard, you can put money on that.
Chrud
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings Yeah, but it's the cold sun. You know, sunny, not a cloud in the sky, and still a high of 13 degrees.
snapper
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings [ QUOTE ] Yep, that is screwed up. And if Pittsburgh, New England, or the Eagles go 15-1 and get beat in the playoffs and someone wins the Super Bowl with a lot less wins, that must be screwed up too. [/ QUOTE ] The difference is that football has two teams play each other on Sun. and is broken up into different divisions. Nascar has 43 teams competing on Sun. and doesn't keep track of a win/loss record. Its based solely on the # of points a team gets each week. I don't follow other sports like I do Nascar because of the points system. Used to be 43 cars race 36 races and the team with the most points at the end...WINS! Because of the new system, I don't really care what happens in the last ten races. I'll only watch the first 26 races and if I don't have something else going on, I may watch one of the last ten races.

Guest deldeer
Re: 2004 WINSTON Cup Standings why?????.........do the math.......( im all for the old system) the new one is a bunch of crap!!!!!....if nascar wanted a change, all they had to do was to give the race winner 20 more points, not screw up the whole system. that was the dumbest thing they ever did.
