With what perverts their are in the world now, I wouldn't feel safe letting my child ride on a bus with older kids at all. She's 5 and very influential. I would make a call to local politicians and do my best to deal with this but I would not let either of my children ride if I could help it.

That is what really gets me. The school office workers are saying I should let the kids ride the bus, that it is safe. They dont seem to understand my concerns with putting a defenseless 4 or 5 year old on a bus for up to an hour with 14 and 15 year olds teenagers.

Check your local laws to see if you have the right to choose. We do in Arkansas. You can always pull the " If you don't give us a trasfer, we'll home school her and you still won't get the money" card with the Super.

There is no way I would put a 5 year old on a school bus.

That's how we all rode the bus back when I was little. But things were WAY different back then. If you acted up on the bus, then the bus driver would drag you off by your hair and paddle your rear end.

Nowadays.......the bus driver can't do a THING except to call the law and WAIT til they show up.

My kids have ridden the bus all their lives and we've not had problems, especially when they were little.

Like Steve said, talk to the driver and see how you feel.

When we were still on the farm.I rode bus up until grade 7. The bus carried K-12 with none to few problems. But that was a long time ago . If we still lived in a rural area Id let my kids ride.
