Guest MizzouHunter6
Welp , Saturday evening I was sitting on a hill top for the last weekend of gun season. It was about 5:15 and getting dark quick. I see some movement down in an old dried up river at the bottom of the hill I was sitting on top of. Two deer appeared. One big mature doe and a yearling. She stepped out about 5 yards in the middle of this clearing , the nervousness came over me. For some reason...my mind shifted and I got the feeling "Boy, I better focus and get this deer...you can do it." I had no rest whatsoever so I took my .270's sling and wrapped it around my arm and put my knees in my armpits to get as steady as possible. I remember looking at her through the scope and laying the cross-airs just behind her shoulder....then bang!(about a 125 yd shot) I looked down after the recoil and see my first deer laying motionless right where she stood. What a great feeling. She ended up weighing about 150 lbs. Not a bad first deer! I have pictures...but no idea how to post them. I can e-mail them to somebody if they would be nice enough to post one for me!
