DAO semi-auto pistols?!?

Recommended Posts

I am drooling over a Beretta 92FS Vertec, and was looking for one online to get an idea of prices. I found a Dual Action Only(DAO) version. confused.gif After doing some research on it, I found that some police departments are asking their officers to carry DAO pistols as a "safety precaution"!

I would, personaly, never buy a DAO pistol, I don't mind a SA/DA first shot from an autoloader as long the remaining shots remain SA unless you decock.

Anyone here like DAO? or have a good reason to buy one?

Re: DAO semi-auto pistols?!?

I've recently picked up a S&W M&P .40 as a carry gun. This model is a DAO. I find it very easy to shoot. The biggest advantage to a DAO is that the trigger pull is exactly the same from first shot to last. There are some who have problems hitting with the first shot out of a DA/SA gun because of the much higher pull weight of the first shot.

Some of the early DAO guns had harsh triggers. They have come a long way in improving this.
