Tominator
Re: food plot Stuff I plant for small game. Rabbits will eat anything, I'm convinced of it. They commonly eat bark off my apple trees and any other little tree they can find. They also decimate my peas and beans. I toss corn out there all the time too, and they'll clean it up in a matter of a day or so. Pheasants, thick stuff for cover like multiflora rose, switchgrass, stuff like that, and you can't go wrong with millet, milo/sorghum for food and cover. Doves--sunflower or any other little bird seed like foxtail, millet or sorghum if it's all mowed down. Good luck!

too_pointer
Re: food plot Born2, do you think that sunflowers would grown in Northern Michigan ? It would be just something I would like to do for the birdy's and treerats I see you just said you planted them recently, so it must not be too late. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: food plot Here's a cut milo field. Birds and small game love it. Sometimes we'll leave every fifth or sixth row standing for extra cover.
CuzTheyFly
Re: food plot Texan_Til - You posted the absolute best crop in Texas, for dove food plots. In my opinion, Milo is even better than the sacred sunflowers every one is so crazy about... Where ever you hunt in Central TX, I bet you folks do real well.... Have you ever hunted Geese on or over milo fields that were holding small pockets of water. Like after a good rain?
