Re: .22

It all depends on what type of gun you are after. If you want a fast shooting semi auto the Ruger 10/22 is hard to beat. There are so many custom parts available you can make it as mild or wild as you want.

The Marlin guns are good also but are not as popular with the aftermarket. They usually shoot as well or better compared to a stock 10/22.

If you want a highly accurate bolt gun, the Anchutz are tops. Kimber also makes some extremely nice and good shooting guns. They are not cheap though.

Re: .22

I've got a marlin model 60 that was given to me a few years back. It was so rusted up and looked so bad that I never even shot it. Last summer I decided to clean it up and shoot it. I shot about 200 rounds through it in about an hour. It didn't jam or misfire once and I shot up a load of coke cans with very little misses at 50 yards. I didn't do any serious target shooting, but with my bad eyes and less than steady aim I know this could be a pretty darn accurate gun.

Any gun that can go through the abuse that this one obviously has, has got to have my vote.

Re: .22

ruger 10/22 is a great little rifle. have had mine for 16 years and it's never had any problems. i bought mine after my first .22 broke. first one was a marlin, but it was a gift from my grandpa and practically worn out before i got it. it was a great shooting gun as well. don't think you can go wrong with either

Re: .22

You will need to go somewhere that has a variety of .22's, and see what fits you the best, also you need to decide on what action you want, semi, bolt, ect. I have a Rem. semi 597 that I'm starting to really luv. I have owned 10/22's before but I find now they are just to small for me to be comfortable with. Good luck on your choice, and welcome.
