IowaDeerHunter
Guys I have a skull I found the has been natural bleached by the sun, but I want to bleach it white. What product should I use that everyone uses. And I do know to not use blach because it weakens the bones. Thanks guys!

IowaDeerHunter
Re: Bleaching a deer skull. I have heard of using HP but from what I have read you have to wrap the skull in gauze and pour that on it. I was hoping to find something to just mix in water and let the skull soak in it. Swamphunter
Re: Bleaching a deer skull. I have heard of guys spray painting them white. Not what I would want to do, but if you don't want to use the HP, maybe an alternative??
RTF
Re: Bleaching a deer skull. Soaking in HP then letting it sit in the sun to dry out will do the trick for you.

Chrud, I did a euro mount on a buck awhile back, I just boiled mine in water and HP for a couple of hours, and I am really happy with how it turned out. Unfortunatly I have no pictures anymore... I did boil them with the HP, I just dumped 1 bottle of HP in with enough water to fill it to above the skull. I wrap the bottom of the antlers with tin foil to prevent the antlers from turning white if they get into the mix. Boil it until it's the color I want - seems like it takes between 1-2 hours. Tom2008
Re: Bleaching a deer skull. I just poured 2 liters of Hydrogen Peroxide into the pot with the skull. I elevated the skull out of the water a little bit so the antlers wouldn't turn completly white.
