Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Muzzleloaders I'll throw another question out at ya, and another and another. Why do you want a light one? Is light really necessary? Might a heavier one be more practical? If others keep adding question for you and you answer them, you will come up with the best answer you could ever have and it will be much more unique to you. We are all different yet have many of the same needs and desires when it comes to firearms.
AJ
Re: Muzzleloaders A Knight Wolverine is a light weight, good quality ML. The drawback to lightweight is increased recoil. What size of critters do you want to shoot? If it is just deer, a .45 caliber will reduce the recoil a bit as you can shoot lighter weight bullets that are still extremely effective on deer sized game. wtnhunt
Re: Muzzleloaders Saw some really nice black diamonds in wal mart back in the fall this past year. Thought TC had discontinued them, but guess maybe not. The black diamond if you can find one while it is not the lightest out there is a good ml, not real heavy, but the 50 cal with a 45 cal 240 grain tc xtp mag sabot with a good charge really has not got much if any more felt recoil than a .243. My oldest daughter was shooting mine when she was 8 years old. You will have to work up your loads to see what performs best for you with whatever you buy. You can get good accuracy with about any ml with the right load and plenty of practice.

billkay
Re: Muzzleloaders Check the Knight Rifles web site. They're having a clearance on some of their guns that will save you a lot of $$.
Jeramie
Re: Muzzleloaders Yep, the NEF is a great ML (just like John pointed out). I had one in .50cal a while back. I sold it and want it back badly. I bought a CVA wolf last year to limp through season. Honestly they arent that bad of a break over but it was a step backward from my NEF. For the money, its hard to be a NEF anything.....

WABS
Re: Muzzleloaders You know I've owned my T/C Black Diamond now for around 10 years and for the last 4 or 5 years I've been tempted to get the new easy cleaning, break open action muzzleloader (Omega or something like it). But you know after every ML season it seems like I'm the one that was able to take advantage of the shots offered and I have more notches on my stock (virtual) than the guys I'm hunting with with their Encores/Omegas etc. So I think I'll stick with my old Black Diamond for a while longer. I had the wood stock and blued barrel. That girl will treat you well. Btw, I was shooting loose powder and Hornady Sabots. I got great groups out of that combo! too_pointer
Re: Muzzleloaders Man, that deer, hog, or whatever doesn't care what slammed into him. I think everybody can find one that fits and shoots good for him, no matter the price. I bought my Encore so I could add barrels to it, which I had. I'm sure the Omega is a super buy, and also the NEF. If it fits you, and your wallet, you are all set. We all have to go through the combinations that work the best. Powder, primer and bullet. too)_
