Doc
Is she afraid that you might go out and gun down a lot of people? I know that this episode has probably given a lot of wives something new and frightening to think about, but asking you to give up your guns really doesn't seem to relate to all this. MUDRUNNER
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting I CAN SEE WHY OUR WIVES ARE CONCERNED.THIS IS ONE VERY ISOLATED INCIDENT,AND IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYWHERE.100% OF THE HUNTERS I KNOW ARE GREAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE FAMILIES AND VALUE LIFE.THER IS NO POINT TO STOP DOING WHAT WE LOVE JUST BECAUSE OF ONE WHACKO. Ohiobucks
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting This could have just as easily happened on the street somewhere. It is not a hunting accident. This guy had it in his mond he was going to kill that day, and not a deer. JMHO.
HuntingInMaine
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting "This could have just as easily happened on the street somewhere. " I think it is 100 times more likely to happen in the streets then in the woods. I don't think that I have ever heard of such an atrocity carried out in the woods before and hope to never hear about it again! I understand your wife's concern, but I, for one, refuse to live in fear of what might happen. When God decides it's time for me to go home, then I will go and until then I will live life to its fullest!

In a sense, this guy is a terrorist as well as a murderer. I am sure many people out there are really paying a lot of attnetion to this and surely some will have some really poor thoughts that they will associate with hunters due to this. whitetailkiller
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting my wife has watched hunting slowly consume my life!!!! i think about hunting while fishing, while camping and just about everything else!!!! she already told me she wouldn't ask me to give it up ever cuz she can tell how much it means to me!!!!!!! my wife also knows that i was qualified expert with an m-16 while in the army!!!!! m-16 is way different from a slu gun but i have this natural ability to hit what i'm aiming at or at least be very close!!!! she isn't worried at all about me getting shot,,, it helps that i have a pair of reversable coveralls (one side camo - other side blaze orange ) during firearms season i show the blaze side!!!!!!! because it is obvious that some people are just plain nuckin futs....please be safe in the woods ya just never know what kinda waco will be there with you!!!!! Bruce Schmeck
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting I'd get a copy of "I'm Gonna Miss Her" by Brad Paisley and overdub the fishing line to say hunting and play it over, and over, and over, and..........................................................well, you get the idea. HuntnMa
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting Well I love her But I love to hunt I spend all day in the woods And **** is all I get Today she met me at the door Said I would have to choose If I hit that honey hole today She'd be packin' all her things And she'd be gone by noon Well I'm gonna miss her When I get home But right now I'm on this woodline And I'm sittin' in the tree I'm sure it'll hit me When I walk through that door tonight That I'm gonna miss her Oh, lookie there, here comes a buck Now there's a chance that if I hurry I could beg her to stay But that cloud cover is just right And the weather's perfect No tellin' what I might get today Well I'm gonna miss her When I get home But right now I'm on this woodline And I'm sittin' in the tree I'm sure it'll hit me When I walk through that door tonight That I'm gonna miss her Oh, lookie there, here comes a buck Yeah, I'm gonna miss her Oh, lookie there, i've got a BUCK
Bruce Schmeck
Re: My wife wants me to give up hunting Thanks HuntnMa, I like what you did with it. I don't like too type that much, so I appreciate the public service. Maybe Brad Paisley can record this version as well. I had to wait till I could wipe the tears from my eyes (from laughing so hard) so I could reply.
