hutchies Posted May 22, 2006 Report Share Posted May 22, 2006 I just typed up a long story about it and clicked submit. It didn't go so here we go again. Got down to Corpus Christi at 2a.m. Sunday night. Monday we found a nice little place in Port Aransas. We got it for $376 for 6 nights and it had a Frig, stove, micorwave, table. First day we went to the Ocean and wave were the biggest I have ever seen on the coast. About 6 foot waves coming in. Surfers were everywhere, we almost rented a board so I could make a fool of myself. We went golfing on Thursday and it was great. I played horrible but the 2 old men they paired me with were as bad or worse than I was. We fished off the pier and caught tons of Gaftop and hardhead(or catfish as Okies call them), and Croaker. The gaftop have huge sails on thier fins so when they run buddy you better hold on. Melissa hooked something huge. It just peeled line til it popped. We ate some good food and met tons of nice people. We didn't go on the shark fishing trip. They had just started red snapper season 2 days before we got there. They say they best time to fish for sharks is when the shrimp boats are dragging and shrimping season had just ended. We did see one boat come in with 175lb Hammerhead Shark but the boat had 20 people and a total of 4 sharks. Besides it just gives me a reason to go back. Some old man hooked a huge shark off the pier. His rod ended up in 3 pieces. We took a bunch of long walks on the beach and Melissa got to take the Dolphin tour she wanted. Tons of dolphins down there. For some reason when we got home and she pulled out the camera to show one of her friends the disk showed empty. Not good there were 400 pictures on there. Does Melissa have a sister named Gara? I went to school with a girl that could easily pass as her sister. She moved off before our senior year but I literally had to go back and read your wifes name. One other thing I forgot to mention was that some jackmo either backed into or knocked over my bike while we were down there. The set it back up and I didn't notice it til I put it up for the night.
