Shutter
I had this idea one time, just wondering if anyone has tried it? I was thinking of injecting some worchester, italian dressing, redwine vinegar, and black pepper all mixed together.
hutchies
Re: Ever inject marinade into backstrap? Yep I have. Just make sure that the italian you use doesn't have chunks in it becuase most times it won't go thru the injector.
Shutter
Re: Ever inject marinade into backstrap? good point hutchies. I used a strainer to filter out the garlic and other chunks that were in the italian dressing. 2 nice backstrap steaks are destined for the grill tonight. Guest Andrea
Re: Ever inject marinade into backstrap? Some of those injectors are made big specifically for stuff like Italian dressing and thick sauces.
hutchies
Re: Ever inject marinade into backstrap? Yeah mine said it was but it clogged up all the time. So I strain the chunks. Inject and throw chunks on top.
RangerClay
Re: Ever inject marinade into backstrap? No backstraps but here is what we do. We have an early season ML season here in NY one week before the rifle season. We use it to shoot camp meat. A few years back I shot a button buck. We cut off the entire back leg (hind quarter). We then shot it full of Cajun Injector Creole Garlic marinate. Used almost a half jar. Bet the leg had 20-30 injection points. We then put it on the grill and slow cooked it for 2 hours. IT WAS AWESOME It was better than any cut of prime rib I have ever eaten. It was such a huge success, it has become a tradition in camp. We have found one drawback. You must use young deer. We tried it with 1-1/2 year old deer and the leg was too big for the grill and tougher to eat. Shoot yourself a little one and try it Ranger
