muggs
Re: For the Bonds fans [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] You have as much proof that Bonds took steroids as you do Pujols took steroids. Thats my point. [/ QUOTE ] how do you figure that [/ QUOTE ] You have supposed leaked grand jury testimony that is conveniently sealed to the public so we may never know for sure if all of these leaks (which are illegal by the way) are true and you have a ex mistress who decided to spill some beans after Bonds ticked her off and left her. And thats not exactly a source for accurate information. There is a ton of smoke around Bonds, I know that, but no fire yet. He has failed the same amount of drug tests as Pujols. Zero. Also, if you want to talk about how big Bonds head, neck, legs, arms etc.. are, which everybody points too, go look at Pujols. He has the exact same freakish characteristics. That's all I am saying. I'm not saying he is guilty of taking anything. I'm just pointing out what I see. [/ QUOTE ] John, he admitted to using the cream and clear stuff...which had roids in it, but he "didn't" know that. there's plenty of fire.. Chrud
Re: For the Bonds fans I think it is pretty clear that Bonds took steroids. Look at pictures from a few years ago and look at him today. He is a old man and still getting bigger and stronger. I haven't seen any pictures of Pujols in his younger days. So, I don't know if he took steroids or not. If someone can show me some pictures of him 5 or 10 years ago and he looks as small as Bonds did when he started, I might change my mind. [/ QUOTE ] sure that why they call them "opinions" lol its not fact its opinions ... and in this case a pretty decent one .... wonder why the grand jury is wasting there time investigating it if they dont have even a little bit of evidence to suggest different ..... shockwave
Re: For the Bonds fans In 10 years who`s really gonna care ????There will always be a dark cloud over his because of the ste roids accusations. Everyone should be focusing on Pujols, and the chance has of breaking Bond`s season homerun record..just my thoughts.

Everyone should be focusing on Pujols, and the chance has of breaking Bond`s season homerun record..just my thoughts. [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion, it is way to early in the season, to even consider breaking that record. To many things can happen. Right now it is just media hype. Just a random thought here, I wonder how many of Bonds homeruns came off of steroid induced pitches/pitchers????? Would that not make them a little harder to hit? You could "what if" this thing forever, I think we should all just relish the moment of the record being broken, if it is. Not something that is going to happen very often. Passing Ruth for second, doesn't mean anything other than he is the first loser, it is passing Aaron that counts.
slugshooter
Re: For the Bonds fans Noone's worrying about Pujols yet because it's a long season. If he has sixty by August, then people will start talking. Steroids wouldn't really help a pitcher too much because a bulky pitcher would not be able to manuever like a lanky one would. Look at the best pitchers right now, not really built up at all, they're muscular obviously, all except David Wells, but I remember reading a long time ago about Nolan Ryan commenting about pitchers and steroids, even he said being bulky and muscular would be more of a hindrance for a pitcher than a benefit. unioncountyslayer
Re: For the Bonds fans What I want to know, is why nobody mentions Sammy Sosa's name when they talk about steroids. The guy hit over 60 HR's 3 times (amazingly didn't lead the league in any of those three years) and his previous best season before that was 40. And by the way slugshooter, Sosa hit 243 HR's in a 4 year span, talk about WOW!
slugshooter
Re: For the Bonds fans I mentioned Sosa in my first post in that I had no respect for him. I guess noone talks about him because he is old news for the most part. There was talk of him and McGwire when all this broke. I guess because Sosa hasn't done anything since this steroid thing came out there isn't much to talk about, now, if he was still jacking homers and getting ready to pass The Babe, they'd be talking about him instead of Sosa. Has Palmeiro returned since testing positive?
BowJoe
Re: For the Bonds fans Sosa did the same thing as Bonds and Giambi. They all were immediately put on DL until their system cleared. MLB is a joke when it comes to this testing anyway. They don't want to bust anybody more than the people busted want to be. It's bad PR for them and they only did it recently because fans were against it along with the congressional hearings. Just smoke and mirrors. I don't think Pujols is taking but I am bias because I am litterally a Lifetime Cardinals Fan. Only team I have ever liked since birth. DSGB
Re: For the Bonds fans I lost all respect for Sosa after his corked bat incident. Using it was bad enough, but to lie and say he didn't know which bat he was using was pretty lame. Just like Palmero lying about steroids, and Bonds, too. Giambi at least admitted what he had done and faced the consequences. No one talks about these guys because there's nothing much to debate. Some people still believe Bonds is innocent, and until it is proven, without a doubt, one way or another, he will be the topic of discussion. Sosa, Palmero, and McGuire are all history. What good does it do to keep talking about them? Bonds is still playing and denying everything.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: For the Bonds fans I was always a Mr. October fan, and for you baseball fans you know who I am talking about. Reggie Jackson, he could crank it out of the park, I sure hope my thoughts of Reggie are still good and he hit the ball the old fashion way, through working out and practicing. I too lost faith in Sosa after the bat deal, that was just wrong!! He got caught!!
