Guest rutnroy
well i got my 3rd turkey using my knight tk2000 ml. the shot was only 17 yds. and it knocked him right over. if anyone was thinking of trying a ml for turkey i would definately try the knight. PA_Spike_King
Re: smoked a turkey! Rutnroy what kind of pattern do you get with that smokepole at the longer distances? O and by the way congrats on that bird!!!!!!
billkay
Re: smoked a turkey! Got my first with the Knight TK as well. Took him off his feet at 10 yards and dropped him like a sack at 15! I was getting good patterns out to 40+ yards after some tinkering with the amount of powder. I think if I tried some different pellet combos, it could have ben even better. Here's a pic of Tony Smotherman, Knight's Shooting Advisor and me with our day 1 birds. Both were taken with the TK, in Iowa, near the Centerville plant. too_pointer
Re: smoked a turkey! Nice birds guys I see Knight advertising them pretty heavy on tv comercials for turkeys, and showing great patterns at 40 yards !! too_
Guest rutnroy
Re: smoked a turkey! the bird was 18 lbs. and 13 oz., 10 " beard , and 3/4 " spurs. i wouldn't worry about taking a 40-45 yd. shot with this gun. i'm using 3 1/2 " wad with 85 gr. of triple 7 , the shot is a duplex load of copper 6 and nickel 5. the two other birds i got were at 45 and 30 yds. johnf
Re: smoked a turkey! I've never seen any ML shotguns untill this year, and I've seen a lot this year. How does that work with the shot? Can you load a regular riffled ML with shot? Yes, I know, stupid questions. But I still don't know.
billkay
Re: smoked a turkey! There are paticular things needed to load the shotgun, so a regular m/l will not work. Powder goes in first, then the shot cup, then the shot, then a shot topper which prevents the bb's from rolling out the barrel.
