PAbowhunter86
I am thinking about buying a trail cam this year, but I am not really sure what is worth buying or not. So what kind do you have and any comments on it? thanks pa
Bond
Re: Trail Cams?????????? The best cam you can get for under $700 would be a homebrew. It costs between $200 and $300 to make one. Anyone can make one if they have time, take a look into it...

Mirage
Re: Trail Cams?????????? i use the cuddeback and like it alot, i dont know much about the others. i know the cuddeback has great trigger time, great battery life and i own three of them at $400 a peice i think that says alot about how happy i am with them. I will say that there is a learning curve for use but once you have used it for a while its as easy as pie, good luck in your choice i think KTMMIKE could better help you he sells them
Shutter
Re: Trail Cams?????????? Here is a comparison that was posted last year. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90533& When choosing a commercially produced cam, I think you have to decide what is important to you. Price, flash range, mega-pixels, trigger time, battery life, etc.. I think all cams do a decent job, some do better in different areas. like mentioned above, a home brew will exceed in all aspects

Hoyt03
Re: Trail Cams?????????? I found a cheap stealth 35mm brand new for 23$ last weekend. I have heard that they take pretty decent pics if you dont mind film. Bass pro has them on sale I saw for like 40$ At that price it will be a little easier to swallow if somebody swiped it from the tree. I could not see paying 400$ dollars for a camera unless I had my own property and was very certain nobody would be stealing it. If your just trying to see what animals you have around and are not in it for the photography part of it i cant see anything wrong with the cheap stealths. mbhutton
Re: Trail Cams?????????? I have used the stealth cam in the past, they are cheap and film. I hunt a lot of oublic land so if they get stolen im not out of pocket to much, they have okay photos, make sure you use 800speed film
toddyboman
Re: Trail Cams?????????? I have had some 35mm ones. Old ones, had for about 5 or 6 years they have been awesome but cant find anymore, cant even remember the name of them. Also had a stealth cam it was ok. Now for digital have Moultree 100 works well for 100 bucks. Also "had" a cuddeback, it was by far the best as for picture quality and tigger speed. Obviously it was 400 bucks, but it was stolen off our private property so fearful of buying another.
