Mathews and Parker??? These are from the same company???

Yes they are.

You'll always get better performance out of the major name, but the lesser parts of those 3 companies (Parker, Reflex, and Diamond) still perform very well and are out there for those that like Hoyt, Mathews, and Bowtech, but can't afford one.

Bowtech and Diamond

Hoyt and Reflex

Mathews and Parker

Since these bows are from the same companys, yet have different price points. Do the more expensive ones perform better than the cheaper ones??? confused.gif

Thanks for the input.

You forgot PSE and Archery Research.

Seems like the higher end bows always perform better, you get what you pay for.

Re: Which Performs the best????

hmm.i've done some research and it doesn't seem that parker and mathews are the same company...i have asked over on the mathews forum and the couple replies i have recieved so far say they are different...

Mathews...founded by Mathews Mcpherson

Parker...founded by and still president Robert Errett

oh and as for the question...i believe you get what you pay for....but i also believe tat the bow is only as good as the person shooting it...you can shoot tight groups with any of those bows...kill deer with any of them...but i think the durability and performace of the higher end bows would be better

Re: Which Performs the best????

I guess this question would be better suited for a professional archer. Someone who could just drill a target time after time like a machine. This would be quite an eye opener to the who is best or which is best or even which one preforms best.

I can shoot my PSE Nova just as well as my Bowtech and with all of the stuff on the string the BT is faster but is it any better or did it preform better??

In my way of thinking (simple mind) dead is dead no matter what you shoot it with, as long as it gets the job done..... it preformed it's task, but a good question still

I'm by no means professional, but I do get to shoot all these bows at work, and the bigger names do perform much better......but you are right....."Dead is dead".

Re: Which Performs the best????

Guess I was misinformed by Parker then......I was in contact with them about some bows we got into our store, and I asked them how it was that they had a Genesis identical to Mathews' Genesis, and the guy there told me it was because Mathews bought Parker out.

Go figure?

Here is my question for you, I am not saying it's not true but you expect a 700 dollar bow to shoot and feel better than a 400 dollar or less bow. Now the question just because it shoots better (to you) or feels better when shot does that mean it out preforms a cheaper bow? Does a cheaper bow still preform up to what it's advertised to do?

What I am saying is basically is do I expect my Pse (nova) to shoot the same as my Bowtech Extreme? would I expect a Diamond to preform the way any higher end Bowtech with all the new cams to preform?

When we buy a bow we should be looking at what works best for us(the individual) not what out preforms the other. Could someone please define performance and how it's relative to which bow some decides to shoot?

Re: Which Performs the best????

Of the 3 mentioned, I have knowledge only of Hoyt and Reflex. I can say that there is little, if any difference. In this case, most of the Reflex line is discontinued Hoyt's, just changed cosmetically and Reflex printed on it. I believe the same it true of Bowtech and Diamond, but again, I can't say for sure.

Re: Which Performs the best????

This topic reminds me of some fishing line I used to buy that out PERFORMED all others. It was $2.99 for 200yrds, where the bigger names were from $10-$15 a spool of 150 yrds. One of the big names bought them out and it is no longer made.

Of course that doesn't always pertain to everything but just goes to show you better things aren't always the more expensive ones.

Yes I just contradicted my former post. confused.gifconfused.gif

Unfortunately, I think only the individual can answer that one for his/herself.

VT spot on. No one can decide for us but us. I firmly believe this is the root of most of the mine is better syndrome. The real question is better for who? preforms for who? Good answer VT.... smile.gif

Re: Which Performs the best????

I think that what makes a bow better than another is just like computer programs. They are always upgraded by features and ease of use. More user friendly. If a bow constantly goes out of tune and you have to take it back to the shop every 100-200 shots then that is a low quality flaw to me. If your bow is made of materials that are of a lesser quality than the higher priced models then the higher quality product is the better one. The lesser of these qualities is the reason these bows are different prices. I liked my Mathew's FX but I liked the smooth shooting, shock free, easy feel of the Outback. I liked the features and quality. I used this forum for all it's worth when I bought that bow. I read many many reviews of what others had experienced with the bow and decided to try it. Liked it and bought it.
