NEbuck
I was wondering if anyone had a handloading recipe for this caliber, preferably using a 160 nosler partition bullet. I used to buy them from remington but they quit making them. I was hopeing to be able to come close to duplicating this load, but if anyone has any different loads I'd sure like to see them. Thanks
Idaho_ Elk_ Huntr
Re: 7mm RUM I am currently using 160 grain accubonds and 90 grains of H1000 Federal 215 primer. average .40 groups at 100 yards. I pm'ed you a url for a lot of info. Start lower and work up. No signs of pressure in my gun but yours may differ.

NEbuck
Re: 7mm RUM Thanks for the info. that sight you gave me is exactly what I was looking for. Is there a chart or a way to figure bullet drop for those loads.

Is there a chart or a way to figure bullet drop for those loads. [/ QUOTE ] I have found over the years, it is best to shoot different loads at different yardages. I start at 100, 200 and 300 yards! That way I know exactly what that load is doing at these yardages! I do not shoot at anything that is over 300 yards! It is just to iffy of a shot and the chances of wounding an animal are too great! Strut10
Re: 7mm RUM Always do your final checking in the real world. I used the above listed ballistics calculator to sight in a coyote load for my .220 Swift. I chrono'ed the load, filled in all the blanks and got an elevation for a 25yard sight-in that would zero the gun at 300 yards. I took several sight-in shots at 25 then took the target out to 300 yards. It was dead..........and I mean DEAD right way out there!!!!!! Right to the 1/8 of an inch!!!
