Re: Dixie Chicks

I like there music i think it sounds fine. If they want to talk poo about old george let em it america. I dont like the man for some of the things he has done but im not going to go into that all that does is fuel the people who stand behind him. I think if you are upset about the gas prices you need to take a long hard look at our president who is from a oil family and wonder hmmm, i dont see him paying to fill up airforce one. anyway there ok but they did kinda hurt there sales im sure

Its funny...my wife and I just spoke about this again this morning. She knows how I refuse to let them into my home and she was listening to VH-1 this this morning and made the comment abouth "they can't make it in country anymore so now they are pop"...as I was changing the station (on purpose), I said they "aren't making it in pop in this house either".

Did you see how much he paid in federal income tax? He pays his share. Can't blame him for the gas problem either. I don not like the chicks either!!

Re: Dixie Chicks

Well i'm in a different boat then most people in here. I will still get their cd/s and support them and would go see them in concert..again. I dont see anything wrong with expressing their thoughts, I would have probaly said the same things. I think TK is more obnoxious then they are. I for one turn off his stuff when its playing on the radio b/c I get sick and tired of him using all these america themes in his songs to try to sell records and create this patriotic image so again more people like you all will go buy his stuff.. I hate that guy, and still support the chics. If people cant get over that they need to get a life. GB isnt that great.

Re: Dixie Chicks

Supporting the dixie chicks would be about the same as buying and/or supporting a buisness that supports anti-gun/hunting groups.

They are entitiled to their opinions...thats whats great about this country. We are also entitled to buy what we want. Like Pres. Bush or not...if your famous and have the entire world listening to you...you should either support your Pres. or say nothing at all. The "chunky" chic sorta ruinied their carrer IMO.

I will not buy another one of their cd's or listen to their music!

BTW hoyt03...I got a life! wink.gif

Re: Dixie Chicks

Country music nauseates me to begin with. I don't listen to any of it. But when that one ran her big mouth off about W and being from Texas.............they actually made themselves the only country group that I could name if asked. So, maybe in some small way it helped their careers some......made them a teeny bit more famous. Now I know who they are. And I still don't like country. tongue.gif

Re: Dixie Chicks

I love the two sisters and enjoy watching them play, but the little fat one really got on my bad side. I think they are very talented but don't share their poloitical veiws and think that the forum in which they expressed those veiws was inappropriate . I do give the two sisters credit for standing behind Natalie and supporting her even if I don't like their veiws on politics. I am not sure they all three agree, I just think they supported one another. Look where it got them.

And I can't wait for Toby Kieths next CD,,, any bets that the Dixie Twits will be mentioned... grin.gifwink.gif

Bad part is that one of those women is married to Pat Green...............a great Texas musician. Wonder how long the marriage will last. I almost bet that some PR person told them that Bad press is better than no press so they are just out running thier mouth.

[/ QUOTE ]

While their talent is not in question here, I am definitely not a fan of green either.

[/ QUOTE ]

None of the three are married to Pat Green. Marty is married to Charley Robison (another Texas musician)

They still don't rate listening in my book either, but I can't let Pat Green get roped in with them.

Re: Dixie Chicks

Everyone has a right to their oppinion and we are in a free country that allows us to voice it whenever and wherever we want to.

With this freedom comes responsibility and the consiquences of what we say.

They said something they probibly should not have considering who their fan base is. If this had been some grung band from Seattle, we probibly would have never heard anything about it, and it probibly wouldn't have affected their popularity a bit.

As my mom says "they crapped in their own bed".

I wouldn't support them in any way.
