Re: Britney Spears

I dont have much use for Brittany either but I will say this in her defense.I bet if the media decided to make you out to be an unfit parent and followed you constantly they could make anyone in here out to be just that and probably get photos of all of us doing stupid things. Not liking her music or what she does professionaly is one thing and pefectly understandable. But bashing her as a parent because of a few things the medias "unbiased" reporting has turned up is kind of a stretch IMHO.I can honestly say ive had kids on my lap in the car, drove without kids being in thier seatbelts, and taken kids to the emergency room with broken bones.Bet Im not the only one in here either.Im just glad nobody stalks me with a camera.

Re: Britney Spears

I couldn't agree more horst. The media can twist any story anyway they want to. For instance my sig here has me and my girls on my bike. On the other hand we were coming from the neighbors house less than half a block away and were going less than 5 mph but if you saw I in a magazine I would have been out on the highway supposedly doing 50.

BTW-Bring on the flaming. I am ready for it.

The big issue is people that spend the time to follow her around just to get that one "big picture" Those people need to get a life! The average person doing the same thing never gets their life and the life of their child glamorized!!

Paparazzi must be one step lower than a telemarketer!!! smile.gif

Personally I would say they are on the same step as a lawyer.

On that same note.....you'd think that since she IS in the glaring spotlight ALL THE TIME....she'd use a little more tact when being out in public with that baby. OF COURSE it's gonna make the front page of People Magazine.

And no, I have never driven with my baby in my lap. If something were to happen and the airbag go off.....I would have killed my child.

Re: Britney Spears

So huntingirl, you have never had a kid in the car with no seatbelt on?Maybe just to run to the nieghbors or over to the gas station for a second?Or had to take one of your kids to the ER cuz they fell and broke a bone or sprained something?Being famous doesnt change the fact she hasnt done nothing 90% of the "good parents" in this country havent done themselves. But thier the same ones standing in the checkout line at the store reading this crap off the cover of some tabloid magazine, talking about how disgracefull it is then driving home with little Johnny jumping all over in the back seat.Says a lot about this country when all we got to worry about is how some singer and first time mother are raising thier kid doesnt it?

Re: Britney Spears

I've got no use for her and her music. However I feel bad for her. The fact that she is constantly hounded by the media/papprazi.

When it all boils down, she is basically a early 20's single mother(don't think her "husband" is around much) dealing with the things that first time mothers deal with.

I'll give her credit, she's always the one holding the baby and with the baby. No Nanny following behind her with the stroller, while they go shopping.

Re: Britney Spears

As comedian Ron White says in his last DVD..."You can't fix stupid".....the little girl is all grown up, and apparently a fertile young woman, that needs to get to her proctologist and get her head out of that hole, and start thinking....she has more money that most small countries...she really needs to get help raising kids, because she isnt doing so hot.....al

Re: Britney Spears

I dont get why she is such a big deal. I mean yeah so she doesn't do cetain things right but I that doesn't mean she does not love her child the same way anyone else would. She has a ton of money and let face it she could have aborted it. So props to Brittany...not for screwing up from time to time but for being a MOM.

Re: Britney Spears

Well, I kind of see some valid points here from Chris(horst). While I am certainly not a fan of hers, maybe some people are too quick to criticize her without knowing all the details. I have had an occasion where my wife was out and had the vehicle with the carseat back when we had one child and our oldest daughter then 4 was running a fever, so I drove into town and got some tylenol. On the way home wouldnt you know with my luck a road block is setup and I get ticketed for her not being in a carseat. I explained to the officer, he didnt want to hear it.

As far as an infant, well our baby is 6 months old, when we get off the highway on our old road where there is no traffic, I have on several occasions got her out and let her ride in my lap.

Dont know about the seat belt laws elsewhere, but here it has gotten ridiculous. Kids under 5 ft tall are supposed to now be in booster seats. When I was a kid, my parents drove across the country with me all over front and back of whatever car we happened to have at the time and in the floorboards.
