Ok, I know everyone's heard of chicken and dumplins. But have you ever had roast and dumplins???? smile.gif

I made my first pot tonight. ( Well I actually started yesterday) I put the roast in the crock pot on low over night. Then after I took it out, I cut it ( shredded it really) up and then poured the juice into a pot. Added some water, brought it to a boil, then added the dumplins. After they cooked for about 15 minutes, I added the meat back in. Serving it with biscuits and corn on the cob.

Make a puppy pull a freight train, let me tell ya!!!! smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

HG ...I wasn't to sure about melding two types of recipes together...But it looks like you pulled it off.. Looks very hearty...Something I will try this next winter...I think my wife would like this with a sourdough roll for sopping up the gravy... wink.gif

Thanks..

We call that beef and noodles.

I do that recipe too. Yummy. I make it in the dead of winter when you need the extra carbs to pull you through a cold night. smile.gif

I thought beef and noodles was "Hamburger Helper". LOL grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

You guys roll out your own dumplins??? Or use the store bought?? smirk.gif

Your picture shows noodles (at least in Ohio grin.gif). A dumpling is just a lumped up noodle, a big ol' hunk of dough that is boiled, and yes, occasionally I'll make a potato dumpling mixed with sauerkraut and bacon. MMMMMMMMM. Polish fare right there. It's called "Gruba Kluski," or potato dumpling.
