thebig1
I'm looking for opinions on a quality ammunition that produces consistent shot placement. i'll be shooting a 30-30 probably in 150gr. round. what are your opinions? i've been using remington but am hoping to get something better this year. wtnhunt
Re: Quality Ammunition Winchester, federal, remington and hornaday are all good ammo manufacturers. Been shooting 150 grain core lokts from my 270 for a good while and been pretty pleased with the job they do.

elkoholic
Re: Quality Ammunition Any name brand ammo that shoots well in your rifle is the one you want to go with. I have personally never had a problem with Remington Core Lokts and I have known others who shoot exclusively Winchester and have had no problems. I use Weatherby shells with the Nosler Partitions in my .300 mag and have had no problems there.
JimPic
Re: Quality Ammunition I've used Remington ammo and tho it was accurate-it seemed to be a little too "explosive".I pretty much use Nosler partions anymore for deer and ballistic tips for groundhogs. But like drp said-shoot what your gun likes to shoot. billygoat
Re: Quality Ammunition My suggestion is by several brands of ammo, go to a range and shoot, 2 or 3 groups of 4 shots from each box of ammo, often you will find that guns shoot certain brands better than others, and no one brand (in my oppinion) shoots "exceptional" in every gun. Best of luck
