OJR
4 of us broke down and bought a buffalo. It was slaughtered yesterday! In about 8 to 10 days, we are going to have some super eating! I shot one a couple of years ago and that is too much work for this old guy! My wife and I have become very fond of this meat and wouldn't trade it for anything! From burger, steaks and roasts there is not anything bad!! Lots of good BBQ's coming up!!

OJR
Re: Buffalo [ QUOTE ] Never had any. Does it taste like beef?? [/ QUOTE ] Not really! It has a flavor all of it's own. Nothing wild tasting but a fairly fine texture and it is just delicious! We don't have any suet added to the burger and it is very lean! Real low in cholestrol, so with my heart condition that is a help! Now all I have to do is to quit eating so much of it! LOL! I will take it over the best beef you can find any day of the week!! rifleman25
Re: Buffalo We have a buffalo farm near us. I trade a half of one of my home raised beef for a half of his buffalo every year. This is the third year we have done it. Sure is some good eating.

AaronS
Re: Buffalo I need to try buffalo steak one day. I had a buffalo burger on my South Dakota trip last year and it was more dry than venison. Could have had a lot to do with the preparation.

As I said, we do not add any suet to the meat but we do dress it up with some bread crumbs, milk, onions, garlic etc. when we BBQ the burgers. It is very juicy and comes off the grill just great!
