wtnhunt Posted May 25, 2006 Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 Didnt have a camera with me, but sure wish I would have. Turkey season ended here a couple weeks ago. Seems every season after it ends we start seeing birds around here more and more regularly. Well, as I pull in the driveway this morning after taking my oldest daughter to school, I have two hens walking up the driveway towards the house. My 4 year old was laughing her butt off as we drove up the drive way, one of them kept down the middle in front of us up the hill for about an 1/8th of a mile or so, was pretty funny watching the bird run on the gravel before it finally decided to take flight. Right after season.... They were everywhere. Deer season happens like that too. I took a friend hunting last year (Rifle). We saw nothing. I dropped him off at his house and went home. On the way I drove past a friends place and a nice 8-point was standing smack dead in the middle of his field. I swear he smiled when I went by.... Turkey season starts I see deer galore, they are actually bedding down near me. No turkeys to be seen. Come deer season I see a flock of turkeys where you can't count all of them! You either see a brute of a buck, just before the season opens or just after it closes.
