Guest Andrea
Who fishes from sun-up to sun down?? Who likes fishing in the sun, fishing in the shade? Who takes every piece of tackle they own? Who only takes what's needed for that particular kind of fish?? Do you prefer fishing alone or always taking someone? And last but not least.......and this one's pretty hard, I think................. If you could choose between an all expense paid hunting trip to (insert fave hunting place here) OR a brand new boat, motor and trailer of your choice...which one would you choose?? ( Fresh water only guys....)
muggs
Re: Fishing habits cool post HG since I live less than two mile from Lake Erie, I'd take the new boat right now for sure...as much as I'd love an elk hunt out west. As far as habits go, I have tons, preparing to go fishing is one of the few times I get really meticulous. I usually pre-tie several leaders, make sure everything is working properly (reel etc.) and then lay it all out in order so I know what I have. I absolutely hate lugging stuff I don't need, so I only take what I'll use, maybe a few extras but not much. I make sure I have all my needs covered, but nothing over the top, when I'm fly fishing, what I need is a lot anyway. Oh yeah, I also rig up before I leave so when I get to the river I'm ready to fish and I don't waste time tying knots. I'll fish certain rivers all day, but luckily enough I now live really close to one of my favorite rivers so if I have a couple hours free I head there. Gator
Re: Fishing habits No way can I fish sun-up to sundown. I don't have much tackle, just one box, but it gets me by. I do have several rods, and depending on what I am after, and what I am fishing with dictates what I will take. Alone or with someone, doesn't matter. A boat. I would get YEARS of use out of a boat, but a hunting trip would only last a week at most. Think of all the catfish I could catch with a new boat!!!! Guest Andrea
Re: Fishing habits I'll go ahead and tell y'all that I can fish from sun up til sundown and then some. Sun or shade. And I like to take a little of everything when it comes to tackle. ( Keep all the bases covered: bass, cats, bream, jacks) I like going fishing with others, but I am quite content to go by myself. ( You should see the looks I get when men pass by and see a woman in a boat by herself....pretty funny) And since I have a fairly new boat and trailer, I'll take that hunting trip to Canada or New Zealand. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Fishing habits I'll usually fish all day unless there's something else I need to go do. I own a LOT of tackle and carry almost all of it with me when I'm fishing out of my Ranger. But if I'm fishing out of someone else's boat, I'll cut down to 5 or 6 rods and only 50 pounds or so of tackle. I prefer to fish with someone if I'm fishing for fun. If I'm practicing for a tournamnet, I'd rather fish alone. I'll take a new Ranger Z20 with a 225 Evinrude E-Tec, thank you very much! Gator
Re: Fishing habits I'll take one of these, 20' War Eagle. back it up with a Honda 4 stroke, say 115hp. [image][/image]
OUTSIDER
Re: Fishing habits I am a freak about my equiptment. I take my baitcasters apart and clean them every 3rd trip. and when i am home fishing i take my spinners apart and clean them every sunday. I take a bass bag when i go to the pond...it has some gill stuff in there. When i go muskie fishing i take my muskie boxes in my dry bag. If i had a chance to get a new boat or my favorite hunting trip i would take the hunting trip to alaska...go with AAA and take a monster brown, caribou, Moose, or sheep. or the polarbear trip i have dreamed about. Shaun_300
Re: Fishing habits I like going out in the mornings and evenings. Not too much during the day. Sometimes I go out just for a boatride to get off the shore for a while. For the most part I like fishing alone. But I don't mind if someone else wants to come along. I have three rods and reels, an ultra lite, light action and medium action. I have two tackle boxes. One mainly for bass and the other for walleye, musky and pike. I'd defiently take a Nitro boat with a 200 Merc on the back with a trailer over a hunting trip. I'd love to go on a nice hunting trip to Saskatchewan or Montana, but the boat would last a lot longer than the trip would.
SaskMan
Re: Fishing habits I can fish from sun up to sundown, chucking the same crank bait, drifting over the same weed bed...over and over again. I take all my gear with me, if the pike are not on, the walleye will be so I make sure and have everything I need. I prefer fishing with my brother, we grew up fishing together and he's the only guy I know who can make the same drifts all day as me, chucking a big old crank. I feel I live where hunting and or fishing couldn't be much better so as for the trip.......I'll take the boat.
Tominator
Re: Fishing habits #1--I have in the past, but not in a long time. #2--Only what I need. #3--Alone, but don't mind company if they don't talk too much. #4--One time hunting trip or a lot of use out of a boat--Boat.
